Exploring how horses shaped politics, culture and society through archival research, material culture & veterinary treatises

About

Emma Herbert-Davies was awarded a BA (Hons) in History, and an MA and PhD in Medieval Studies from the University of Leeds. Her doctoral research examined the role and significance of warhorses during the reigns of Edward I and Edward II. She has published widely on the political, social, and cultural importance of horses in the Middle Ages and is currently researching the history of veterinary medicine.
