My research focuses on the horse in history, particularly its breeding, training, care, and equipment. I am a specialist in the medieval warhorse, including the logistics of taking horses on campaign and the impact of warfare on their health, management, and survival
Horseshoes: A Pocket Guide
I am also in the process of launching Horseshoes: A Pocket Guide for Finds & Fieldwork, a practical resource designed for archaeologists, Finds Liaison Officers, and metal detectorists, offering guidance on the identification and interpretation of horseshoe finds
